My coaching philosophy, first and foremost, is to infuse in all of my skaters, both young and the young at heart, an enthusiasm for skating. I believe that in order for my students to achieve their personal best, I need to have a consistent, positive, fun and encouraging approach. I focus on quality basics and techniques to provide my skaters with a solid background to achieve their future dreams and goals. I strive to provide my services to the best of my ability at all times, and I further believe that the “skating experience” offers life skills that transcends a person’s time on the ice. Skate For Life!
For the past 39 years, I’ve had the pleasure of coaching test skaters from Pre-Can Skate through to Gold level and competitive skaters from Pre-Juvenile to International levels. I’ve coached medalists in all disciplines and in all levels, including synchronized skating.

Hello Skating Families!!
I would like to give you a little bit of a background on myself; also included is my contact information as well as billing information. Let me just start by saying I am super excited for this upcoming winter season and getting to know all of you!!
I am originally from Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. I was a part of the Rocky Figure Skating club for 12 years. During this time, I competed in many competitions and passed many tests, including
my Senior Silver Interpretive. I took three years off of skating after graduating high school, to pursue my lifelong dream of going to Marvel College in Red Deer and become a journeyman hairstylist. After college, I moved to Medicine Hat.
In 2012, two years after moving to Medicine Hat, I realized I really missed skating and joined Cypress School of Skating. Since joining this club, I have accomplished my Junior Bronze Freeskate, and currently working through my Senior Silver Dances as well as my Senior Silver Skills. I also competed as an adult at the South Region Competition; this was my first competition in six years!!
I became CanSkate Certified in 2013 and CanPower certified in 2015. I currently have a few more things to finish up before becoming Primary StarSkate certified. After becoming certified, I will attend the Intermediate StarSkate course and complete the necessary requirements to become certified.
As for my rates, my hourly rate is $36/hour, therefore $9/15 min private lesson, $5 each/15min semi private lesson and $5each /15 min group lesson. I bill monthly, via email. I accept email money transfer as well as cheques.
Skating has always been a huge part of my life, and I look forward to many years of coaching and sharing my passion and love for the sport to all skaters! Inspiring young skaters is a wonderful feeling!
If you ever have any questions, I am more than happy to answer them! Feel free to email me.
